When you sign up for a Collect Apps account, we pre-populate your Sender Settings. This means that emails that come from your Collect Account will look like this: <yourbusiness>@collectapps.io.
We've created this email "alias" for you to prevent your valuable offers or rewards from going into your customer's Spam inbox.
Why do we do this?
We use the world's leading transactional email provider Mandrill for sending all outgoing customer emails (e.g. Points Update, Rewards Unlocked emails, etc). The emails will still be from your business, but to guarantee the delivery of sent emails and to ensure that the emails are not spam, Mandrill mandates that all sender domains need to be verified. Our collectapps.io domain is verified and a trusted domain among email providers.
If you would like to send emails using your own domain, and not <yourbusiness>@collectapps.io, you'll need to follow the instructions outlined below.
If you are not experienced in setting up a domain, this could seem very technical, so we encourage our retailers to email these instructions to their website/domain administrator:

Step 1: Update Your DKIM
DKIM is a DNS-based email authentication mechanism that helps Mandrill more effectively send mail on your behalf. It allows receivers to verify that we have permission to send your email.
To enable DKIM, create a TXT record for mandrill._domainkey.yourdomain.com (just replace yourdomain.com with the domain you're setting up).

Step 2: Update Your SPF
SPF is another DNS-based email authentication mechanism.
If you don't yet have an SPF record, you will want to add one for your domain.
At a minimum, the value for the SPF record should be : v=spf1 include:spf.mandrillapp.com ?all, if you're only sending emails through Mandrill for that domain.
If you already have a TXT record with SPF information, you'll need to add Mandrill's servers to that record by adding include:spf.mandrillapp.com in the record (before the last operator, which is usually ?all, ~all, or -all).
Step 3: Notify Us Of The Change
Tell us so we can verify the domain.
Email [email protected] with the email address you wish to use and we will send you a confirmation email.
Note: You will need to forward this confirmation email back to us so we can click on the verification link and complete the final step and update our settings.
